Work Experience
Autonomous Research Software Co-Op (June 2022 - December 2022)
Cirrus Aircraft
Duluth, MN
Supported the imaging and perception team on their work towards creating certifiable autonomous flight technologies, including:
○ Researched state-of-the-art event camera dense optical flow algorithms and implemented on Nvidia Jetson.
○ Developed an AR-display ROS2 node using feature points and image transformations.
○ Integral member of the team during flight test campaigns, including camera/lens calibration, hardware integration, and data acquisition.
Test Engineer (July 2017 - August 2020)
TEAM Industries
Bagley, MN
A major OEM supplier in the off-road powersports industry, specializing in the design and manufacture of transmissions, differentials and CVTs/clutches.
Test engineer charged with the test development, characterization, and validation of most in-house R & D projects.
○ Cradle-to-grave: test planning, instrumentation, data acquisition, data analysis, and conclusions/recommendations.
○ Including advanced transmission systems such as traction fluid drives and automotive-type transmissions.
Wide range of disciplines relating to off road vehicle power transmission, including mechanical, hydraulic, NVH, and electrical systems.
○ Both in-vehicle, and bench testing.
Use of automated scripting to wrangle data into actionable visualizations and regression models.
Brainstormed and implemented safety policies as a member of the company's safety committee (Fall 2017 to August 2020).
Lab Assistant (Jan 2015 - May 2015)
T. E. Murphy Engine Research Lab, University of Minnesota
Minneapolis, MN
The University of Minnesota's premiere internal combustion engine research laboratory.
Assisted scientists and graduate students with emissions and efficiency tests.
